1. What is going on at the Show?

The Australian Carbon Trading Expo brings together leading experts, advisory bodies and companies offering viable solutions and directions to assist businesses in measuring, managing and off-setting carbon emissions.  Visitors will be able to learn how their businesses impact greenhouse gas emissions and compare products and services which assist in managing their carbon footprint.

Held concurrently is the Australian Carbon Trading Seminar Series featuring Australian & international speakers covering the latest issues in this field. For more information on the Seminar Series click on the Seminar Series page.

2. When is the Show open?

3. Who should attend?
The Australian Carbon Trading Expo & Seminar Series is a Trade Only Event. Admission is restricted to professional persons working in any field where environment is a consideration.

Some examples of who should attend are:
Health, Safety & Environment Managers, CEO’s, Directors, Owners, Purchasing Officers, Project Managers, Production Managers, Site Managers, Risk Managers, Training Managers, Warehouse Managers, Logistic & Transport Specialists, Construction & Manufacturing Firms, Foremen, Site Inspectors, Building Managers and Government Agencies.

4. How much does it cost to attend?

Trade Visitors – after registering, attendance to the Trade Show is free.

If you wish to attend the Seminars, fees apply.

5. What will I see at the Show?

You will see many of the latest Carbon Management products & services including:

Federal and State Government Advisory Bureaus, Green Energy Providers, Carbon Offset Providers, Carbon Market Consultants & Advisors, Carbon Market Investment Organisations/Brokers, Technology Providers and suppliers of energy efficient and environmentally friendly products to assist businesses in reducing their carbon emissions.

6. What happens when I register?

If you register online you will receive an emailed confirmation that gives you a summary of your registered details as well as your registration identification number.  Please print this confirmation and bring it with you to the Show.  You will be provided with an Access Card when you arrive.

7. Can I change my registration details or check my details?

Yes, if you need to check your registration details please telephone the Visitor Hotline on 1300 858 108.  Alternatively your registration can also be altered onsite at the registration desk at the entrance to the Show.

8. How do I get my Visitor Access Card?
You can collect it at the registration desk when you arrive at the Show.

9. Can I still attend if I have not registered before arriving?
Yes, you are welcome to complete the onsite registration form then proceed to the registration desk at the entrance to the Show. We recommend registering prior to your arrival so that you can avoid any queues.  All onsite registrations will require business identification such as business card, letterhead or company documentation containing your company details.

10. What do I need to bring as business identification?
Relevant identification includes: business card, letterhead or company documentation containing your company ABN. You may also be asked for personal identification such as a drivers licence to substantiate your identification.

11. Can students attend?
As this is a business event, students do not register to attend.

Students may only attend on Thursday 2 April 2009. Only students enrolled in an environmental discipline at tertiary level or registered apprentices may attend the Show upon presentation of appropriate student identification.

A written request to the Organiser from the Course Lecturer must be made prior to the Trade Show in order to arrange student passes at the event. Please email your request to

12. Can I bring my family to have a look?
No, this is a business event and entry is restricted to trade only. Children under 16 may attend if accompanied by an adult at all times.

14. Will there be a Conference or any special events?

Yes, the Australian Carbon Trading Seminar Series offers visitors a chance to attend presentations on hot topics and find out more about what their business will need to do to prepare for climate change policy.  For more information on the Seminar Series, return to the homepage and click on Seminar Series.

15. Where is the Show being held?

The Australian Carbon Trading Expo & Seminar Series is being held at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, 2 Clarendon Street, Southbank, Victoria, Australia. The Melbourne Exhibition Centre is centrally located across the road from the Crown Casino Complex within 500 metres of the Melbourne central business district and is well served by public transport.

PARKING
If you choose to drive, some of your Car Parking options are listed below.
Carpark Rates (effective 1 July 2006)

Melbourne Exhibition Centre
1060 undercover parking spaces managed by Wilsons Parking.
Entrance off Normanby Road.
Open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
Early Bird $10.00 (in by 9.00am - out by 6.00am next day).
Maximum fee $25.00 (all day).
Weekend $10 per 24 hours.

Temporary External Carpark
Carparking around the external west end of the Melbourne Exhibition Centre will be affected by the development of the new convention centre. The river carpark and freeway carpark (at Munro Street) will have reduced capacity spaces.

TRAMS
There is a tram stop at the entrance to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre.
Tram Nos. 12, 96, 109 travel along Clarendon Street from South Melbourne, Port Melbourne and St Kilda and service the CBD via Collins and Bourke Streets.
Trams run every 6-8 minutes during peak times, 7.00am - 9.00am and 4.00pm - 6.00pm and every 10-12 minutes between 9.00am and 4.00pm.

TRAINS
Southern Cross Station (formally Spencer Street) is just a short stroll from the Melbourne Exhibition Centre. The Dandenong, Frankston, Belgrave, Lilydale and Sandringham lines run every 15 minutes and St Albans, Williamstown, Werribee, Upfield, Epping and Eltham run every 20 minutes.

TAXIS
Taxi ranks are located at  the doors to the Melbourne Exhibition Centre as well as all major hotels, Crown Entertainment Complex (across the road from the Melbourne Exhibition Centre) and Southern Cross and Flinders Street Stations.  To call a taxi call 131 008.

18. Do I need a Visa to visit Australia?
Most International visitors to Australia will require a Visa to enter the country. For Government details on Visas visit Australian Government Immigration site at www.immi.gov.au. Remember if you need to make a Visa Application make sure you do so well in advance as there is usually a processing period involved.
