Curated by Barbara Marshall, Material Inspirations incorporated a textile sample bank with the latest in fabrics from Australia’s premier fabric houses under the Trend Themes of ‘Rock: Paper: Scissors’.
Participating fabric houses included… Altimira, Boyac, Brunschweig et Fils, Crowson, Domestic Textiles, Emma Jay Designs, Elliot Clarke, Filligree, Gilda Fabrics, Laine Furnishings, JW Design, Mokum Textiles, MRD Home, MacQuarie Textiles, Nylex Films and Fabrics, Silk Trader, Woven Image, Wortley, Zepel
Awards were presented in four categories: Best Residential Fabric went to Boyac Best Commercial Fabric went to Verve Designer Collections Best Prototype Fabric went to Bekaert Best Interpretation of Theme went to Unique Fabrics
Inspired Spaces Inspired Spaces, a new and exciting feature at DECORATION + DESIGN was a key attraction in the Material Inspirations Pavilion. Six leading interior designers and decorators were asked to showcase their interpretation of the theme ‘Rock Paper Scissors’ in a creative space, which was then exhibited at the Fair.
Designers included: Kym Lackmann, Luxe Interiors Cameron Comer, Comer & King Fiona Lynch, Fiona Lynch Interior Design Katherine Brennan, Kif & Katast Matt Derrick, Matt Derrick Design Christine Saunders, Christine Saunders Design in collaboration with Carlie Logie
Awards were presented in two categories: Most Innovative Space, went to Cameron Comer from Comer & King Editor’s Choice went to Christine Saunders from Christine Saunders Design in collaboration with Carlie Logie from -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Design:Made:Trade An exciting new and exclusive trade event for the design industry, held concurrently with Decoration + Design and held at the Royal Exhibition Buildings, Carlton. Design:Made:Trade showcased some of Australia's best designers to retailers, buyers and manufacturers.
