Welcoming visitors from across Australia, South America, Asia, Europe and New Zealand, the Australian Shoe Fair was considered an overwhelming success by organisers and exhibitors alike. The Shoe Fair attracted thousands of buyers seeking the very best of the Spring Summer 2009 season.
Featuring over 160 exhibitors and thousands of footwear and accessory labels, the atmosphere was alive as retailers were treated to an array of features from mini runway shows and podiatry seminars to a static vintage footwear display showcasing footwear design from three centuries.
First time exhibitor Simon Cron of Swiss technology brand MBT footwear was keen to launch his label to a wider audience following his recent step into the Australian market. “The Shoe Fair was great for us, as a large number of medical professionals attended, which meant there was a high level of exposure to that industry. The Shoe Fair gave us the chance to offer experiential learning to our target market, meaning buyers actually got to try the shoe and see how it felt on, rather than just hearing about it.”
Returning to the Australian Shoe Fair, Renee Demana of South Australian label Gracious Me commented “The Fair is good for getting our brand out, and we came away from the fair with some valuable contacts and great exposure to those boutique stores which are looking for something a little more cutting edge to complement the latest fashion trends”
The Australian Shoe fair is recognised as the key event where the footwear industry congregates to source new seasons looks, meet with industry leaders, discover new labels and liaise with existing suppliers. The fair brings Australia’s leading and emerging high quality suppliers; covering men, women and children’s footwear, as well as a full range of accessories to complete the offer.
The next AUSTRALIAN SHOE FAIR will be at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre in September 2008, showcasing the 2009 Autumn Winter Collections.
