1. What is going on at the Trade Show?

Key industry manufacturers, wholesalers and suppliers will be displaying the latest in materials handling and logistics products and services for 3 days from 27 - 29 October 2009. Co-located with The Safety Show, featuring workplace health and safety solutions. The Safety Conference runs concurrently with these Trade Show.

3. Who should attend?

Sydney Materials Handling is a trade only event. Admission is restricted to professional persons working in any field where materials handling and logistics is a consideration.

6. Do I need to register to attend as a visitor?

Yes, you may register online or by faxing the Free Trade Show Registration which will be distributed with the Trade Invitation closer to the Show.

Registration will allow you immediate entry to both Sydney Materials Handling and the Safety Show.

If you do not receive your free Trade Invitation by the end of September 2009 call 03 9654 7773 to request one.

7. What happens when I register?

If you register online you will receive an emailed confirmation that gives you a summary of your registered details as well as your registration identification number.  Your Visitor Access Card will then be mailed directly to you 3 weeks prior to the Show.

If your Visitor Access Card does not arrive prior to the Show you can collect it at the Show at the Visitor Registration Desk.

If you fax your registration – your registration will be processed and your Visitor Access Card mailed directly to you 3 weeks prior to the Show.

8. Can I change my registration details or check my details?

Yes, if you need to check what details have been registered please telephone AEC on tel 03 9654 7773, who can look up your registration. Your registration can also be altered onsite at the registration desk at the entrance to the Trade Show.

9. Can I Claim CPD Points by Attending?
Sydney Materials Handling, has been accredited by the Office of Fair Trading to offer trade visitors 1 CPD point per hour of attendance at the Show.  Before you enter the Show, you must visit the CPD activation desk in the Dome Foyer to have your Visitor Access Card (badge) scanned, recording the time that you entered.  When you leave the Show, you must visit the same desk to collect your proof of attendance.  Note, 'proof of attendance' certificates can only be issued at the Show and not afterwards.

10. When can I expect my Visitor Access Card?

Visitor Access Cards will be mailed from 3 weeks before the Show.

If your Visitor Access Card does not arrive prior to the Show you can collect it at the Show at the Visitor Registration Desk.

11. What if the name or company on my Visitor Access Card is not correct?
If your Visitor Access Card contains incorrect information bring it along to the registration desk at the entrance to the Trade Show where the we can print a new card for you on the spot at no charge.

12. What if I forget my Visitor Access Card?
Registered visitors may obtain replacement Visitor Access Cards at the registration desk, at the entrance to the Trade Show, without filling out another registration form.  Just bring business identification with you.

13. Can I still attend if I have not registered before arriving?
Yes, you are welcome to complete the onsite registration form then proceed to the registration desk at the entrance to the Show. We recommend registering prior to your arrival so that you can avoid any queues.  All onsite registrations will require business identification such as business card, letterhead or company documentation containing your company details.

14. What do I need to bring as business identification?
Relevant identification includes: business card, letterhead or company documentation containing your company details. You may also be asked for personal identification such as a drivers licence to substantiate your identification.

15. Can students attend?

Thursday 29 October is Student Day.  Students/Teachers must request in writing to attend the Trade Show, including details of the Institution, Course, intended attendance time and number of students.  Requests should be emailed to safety@aec.net.au

Only students enrolled in an occupational health and safety course at a tertiary level or registered apprentices may attend the Show providing they provide appropriate student identity card.

Students should not register to attend, but simply present their student identification at the registration desk at the entrance to the Show.

16. Can I bring my family to have a look?
No, this is a business event and entry is restricted to trade only.
Children under 16 may attend if accompanied by an adult at all times.

18. Will there be a Conference or any special events?

Yes. The Safety Conference, Sydney 2009 runs concurrently with Sydney Materials Handling from 27 - 29 October 2009.  The Safety Conference 2008 featured 7 streams with more than 60 Australian and international speakers.  Details of the Safety Conference 2009 will be available in early 2009.

19. Where is the Show being held?
Sydney Materials Handling is being held at the Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park (formerly Homebush). Trains, Ferries and Bus transport services all run to Homebush Bay. Two hour free parking is located on Showground Road, Grand Parade, Olympic Boulevard and Dawn Fraser Avenue.

Ferry
Sydney Ferries operates a daily service between Circular Quay and Parramatta stopping at Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf. The Parramatta River route departs Circular Quay, No. 5 Wharf.

22. Do I need a Visa to visit Australia?

Most International visitors to Australia will require a Visa to enter the country. For Government details on Visas visit Australian Government Immigration site at www.immi.gov.au  Remember if you need to make a Visa Application make sure you do so well in advance as there is usually a processing period involved.
